My Crochet Journey

Roaring progress

A small beginning in my crochet journey

2 min read

With finishing the bee project, a main goal was achieved and it felt like I was ready to pick up the other projects present in the crochet kit. The next one I wanted to pick up is the dinosaur to get more practice with sewing parts together.

I noticed the bright green and orange colors were nice to work with, since the stitches were clearly visible. Also my technique was getting a bit better and the separate parts were created with less struggles than before.

The white part for the belly was something new, instead of working in rounds, I had to build straight up, by making a chain stitch at the end of a row and turning my work to continue in the row before.

Aligning the parts for sewing was still a challenge and sewing the parts together and on the body was still improvising. At the end I think the bulbs on the back of the dinosaur were quite nicely aligned, but its white belly is a bit off. Still if you look at the end result, you can tell I am making small progress.

Even though it’s far from perfect, this little dinosaur made me realize how much more comfortable I’m slowly becoming with crochet.

I am happy to get tips and tricks from you as well, please let me know if you know any tools, instruction videos or patterns that could help me out mastering the sewing of parts 🙂
